Anouar Majid to speak at Camden Conference Community Events Series Nov. 30th

Anouar Majid, Ph.D., director of the Center for Global Humanities and associate provost for global initiatives, will present a lecture as part of the 2012 Camden Conference Community Events Series on “Why America Matters.” The lecture will take place at the Rockport Opera House on Wednesday, November 30th at 6:30 p.m.

In the last few years, American discourse and its moods have been invaded by the insidious language of decline. Majid will reflect on why this state of affairs, along with entrenched old prejudices, must be reversed, not only for America’s sake, but also for the sake of Muslims and peace in the Middle East.
