Susan McHugh's award from national Humane Society covered by Journal Tribune

The Journal Tribune on Jan. 31, 2011 ran a story on an award that the Humane Society of the United States' presented to Susan McHugh, Ph.D., 91AV associate professor, Department of English and Language Studies.  McHugh's course “Animals, Literature, and Culture” was recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Distinguished Established Course Award, as part of the The Humane Society's 12th annual Animals and Society Course awards. The Society noted that the course demonstrated the value of literary studies in showing how and why species differences endure as the most lasting markers of social distinction.
