Amy Deveau speaks at Symposium

Associate Professor of Chemistry and Physics Amy Deveau, Ph.D., was one of fifteen invited speakers from academia and industry at The Timothy L. Macdonaold Symposium. Macdonald is a successful entrepreneur and an accomplished bioorganic chemistry professor from the University of Virginia.

The Symposium, which was held April 28-29, 2012, was sponsored by Boeringher_Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals and the University of Virginia Chemistry Department.  An alum of the University of Virginia and past-member of Macdonald’s research group, herself, Dr. Deveau highlighted the research that 91AV undergraduate and medical students have worked on in her laboratory in a talk titled “Addicted to Medicinal Chemistry!”.

Macdonald’s peers have arranged for a special May issue of the journal Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Letters to be dedicated to him and his scientific achievements, and Deveau has been invited to publish a paper in this issue.
