Susan McHugh presents in Norway, Scotland and Sweden

Susan McHugh, professor in the Department of English, delivered the keynote address at The Rhetoric of Human-Animal Relationships Workshop at the University of Oslo, Norway.  Titled “The Birds and the Bees? Sexual Politics and Population Rhetorics,” McHugh's talk focused on how the figurative meets up with literal cross-pollination in stories of our current age of extinction.

While in Europe, McHugh also chaired a panel at Wild, a British Animal Studies Network conference convened at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland, and she was an invited speaker at a meeting of the Animal Studies Research Group at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
