A Moroccan news article discusses Anouar Majid’s views on the solution to the Sahara issue

An interview with Anouar Majid, Ph.D., vice president for Global Affairs and director of the Center for Global Humanities, was the focus of a recent Moroccan news article on the challenge that the Sahara poses to peace seekers in the region.

Both Le Matin on April 29th and Le Mag on April 30th published the article based on an interview with Majid in which he argues that the only solution for the Sahara issue is a political solution, based on autonomy of the region, within the larger framework of a nation with autonomous regions—a sort of federal system—can work for all parties.  Majid expressed his hope that the United Nations, which acknowledges Morocco’s progress in human rights, shares this position.
