Marilyn Gugliucci presents award at Gerontological Society of America’s annual meeting

As the chair of the Health Sciences Section of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), Marilyn Gugliucci, Ph.D., professor and director of Geriatrics Education and Research in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, presided over the section’s awards session at the annual GSA meeting, held in Washington, D.C., in November.

Gugliucci presented the Joseph T. Freeman award, granted each year to a prominent physician in the field of aging, to Desmond O’Neill, M.D., of Trinity College, Dublin. O’Neill was the 2012-2013 91AVCOM Humanism in Aging Leadership Award recipient.

The January 6, 2015 issue of the Irish Echo featured a story on O’Neill, along with a photo of Gugliucci presenting to him his award.
