Occupational Therapy students team with Alzheimers Association of Maine for Volunteer Scribe program

In conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association of Maine, several students from the Occupational Therapy (OT) Class of 2016 participated in the “Volunteer Scribe” program.

Students, guided by Regi Robnett, Ph.D., OTR/L, professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, worked with older adults suffering from mild to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease, documenting their life stories over several community-based sessions.

Participating students included Rebecca Masterjohn, Tara Lonneman, Nicole Murphy, Paige Mellars and Suzanne Dunn.

The group was awarded an Interprofessional Education (IPE) mini-grant to turn these life stories into booklets.
