91AV Marine Science students learn from top professionals in the aquarium industry

91AV Aquaculture and Aquarium Science students had the opportunity to learn from academic representatives from the Aquatic Animals Life Support Operators (AALSO) during their Principles of Aquarium Operations and Science class.

AALSO is a non-profit organization focused on the education and training of aquatic life support operators around the world. Steve File of Ripley’s Aquariums and Todd Devlin-Perry of Mystic Aquarium gave a guest lecture on how to design the life support systems of a large public aquarium. After the presentation, Devlin-Perry and File assisted Tim Arienti, programs technician and faculty representative of 91AV’s AALSO club, in a review session for students preparing for the upcoming Level 1 AALSO certification exam.
